Cargo Resource Management

Cargo

The CRM course is aimed at chief mates, gas engineers and officers in charge of cargo watch. It emphasises the importance of situational awareness and effective communication during cargo handling operations, and focuses on non-technical skills. It is designed to provide participants with the necessary knowledge, expertise and hands-on instruction to manage resources adequately.

The training also includes a practical component utilising a simulator, where participants will have the opportunity to improve and refine their cargo-handling and communication skills in a safe and controlled environment. Using the simulator, participants will learn how to manage resources safely and efficiently, apply their situational awareness skills and work effectively as a team.

This course is based on the requirements of Section A-II/1 and A-II/2 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978, as amended (including the 2010 Manila Amendments).

SUPERINTENDENT

The course is designed for Superintendents, reprasentatives or personnel involved, in Ship to Ship operations. ‘Ship to Ship’ operations are mainly in use for cargo transfer between two ships. This can take place out in the open sea, in ports or at anchorages.

The Cargo transfer procedures need to be well prepared, executed and disconnected. This while the vessels are often exposed to the elements (i.e. wind, swell and interaction) and are relying on pre-determined operating limits.
