
13 Jun Simwave supports the LNG Safety Training Programme for Titan LNG
Rotterdam, Friday the 8th of June 2018 – Titan LNG and a consortium of Transafe, Simwave and Falck Safety Services sign an exclusive, long-term Safety Training Contract.
Transafe and Simwave are sister organisations and specialized in respectively compliance and competence management in the maritime domain. Falck Safety Services completes the consortium for safety and fire fighting training.
In preparation of Titan’s first LNG Ship-to-Ship LNG bunkering operations at the end of this year, all parties came together for the signing of the Safety Training Contract that supports a high quality LNG Safety Training Programme.

In order to engrain operational safety in our nautical crews, we have selected Transafe as our exclusive partner of this extensive LNG Safety Training Programme, for our first bunkering pontoon, but alsof for our upcoming bunkering vessels.”
The 7 day LNG Safety Training Programme meets the IGF-code requierements and complies with the guidelines of the Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH).
The training contains subjects like:
- Familiarization of procedures, instructions, checklist;
- Nautical simulation on Simwave’s full mission simulators, including manoevering of the bunker vessel, approaching a receiving vessel, mooring;
- Operations of an LNG bunker vessel on Simwave’s specialized LNG simulators;
- Fire fighting with real LNG on the site of Falck Safety Services
- Emergency Management.

The training can also be combined with other courses like LNG Fuelled vessels, Engine Room Resource Management( ERM) and Bridge Resource Management (BRM).
